Hello sunshine and HELLO summer-like warmth! My goodness. Temps are already in the low to upper 80s and we still have a couple hours for it to warm further…

Dew points are also creeping up there…WSMV DMA DEWPOINT STILL1

Dew point break down: Low 60s — things are starting to feel sticky. Mid to upper 60s — plain uncomfy. Low 70s…down right oppressive.

Our next chance for showers and storms are right around the corner. See the system west of us, over Kansas and Oklahoma? That is headed our way…

Before I get into the timing of things, how about some good news? The rain will clear just in time to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend. Bright sunshine each day, warm and just perfect.

Ok, now let’s get back to when you’ll need your umbrella…

Today and tomorrow (Thursday)…in the clear!

The rain/storms will move in from the west on Thursday night and last through a good chunk of Friday…DD RPM 12KM EVENING3DD RPM 12KM EVENING4DD RPM 12KM EVENING5DD RPM 12KM EVENING6DD RPM 12KM EVENING7DD RPM 12KM EVENING8

The Storm Prediction Center includes our northwestern counties under the GREEN color, a ‘Marginal Risk’ for any thunderstorm to develop into anything severe (1 on a 1 to 5 scale). Areas under the YELLOW color are under a ‘Slight Risk’ but that’s well north and west of us (2 on a 1 to 5 scale). I expect damaging winds to be the greatest threat with some of these stronger storms.

The rainy and stormy weather will be short-lived. Radiant sunshine takes over the 7-Day Saturday and on (yay).

Dan Thomas will have an update coming up on Channel 4 at 4 & 4:30 pm today. CHief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer will break down the timing of who will see the most rain coming up at 5, 6 & 10.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week!
