It’s another beautiful day in the mid-state but with warmer temperatures. A weak area of high pressure is keeping things sunny, dry and very warm. The average high for this time of year is 76 and highs in the mid-state will be about 10 degrees above that again tomorrow and Thursday.
At 4pm this afternoon temperatures are in the mid 80s.
Thursday more clouds will start to move in with an area of low pressure approaching from the west. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon. The chance will increase Thursday night into Friday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Middle Tennessee in a “marginal risk” zone for severe thunderstorms for that time period. That is a one on a 1 to 5 scale.

In the wake of the front slightly cooler, near average temperatures return. Sunshine also take over for Saturday.
With the fair sky tonight check out the almost Full Moon…it will be shining brightly. Look to the east southeast at dusk for the rising moon. The Moon is officially full tomorrow at 4:42pm. The May Full Moon is also called the Milk Moon, Dragon Moon and Planting Moon as well as some other nicknames. Near the Moon, the bright shining object is the planet Jupiter.
