4 Things to Know About Our Weather

There are 4 things to know about our weather tonight that’ll keep you ahead of the game.  They are…

1) We have many cool mornings ahead.

The weather’s changed quite a bit from what we experienced this past Saturday, when the temperature soared all the way to 91 degrees at Nashville International Airport!  Outdoors this evening, it’s quite cool!

Tomorrow morning will be even cooler, as clouds move out and the wind settles down.

Five of the next seven days will feature lows in the 40s, in fact.  The coolest morning should occur on Saturday, when temperatures drop into the lowermost 40s in spots.

2) Tomorrow looks much more typical of early May.

Today, low clouds kept temperatures from climbing out of the 50s over northwestern Middle Tennessee.  Tomorrow, as sunshine returns for the entire area, we’re looking at highs in the 70s, areawide.

While it’ll be breezy during the late morning and afternoon, it won’t be nearly as windy as today was.

3) Rain returns for mid-late week.

Both tonight and tomorrow appear dry.  Then, rain and some thunderstorms move back in for Wednesday and beyond.  While there could be a passing shower on Wednesday during the day, most of Wednesday’s rain will occur after dark.  Thursday appears to be the wettest day of the next seven.

Here’s one computer model’s rendition of how Thursday will go.  Showers and a few storms will be likely during the morning.  Then, we’ll have just cool showers during the afternoon as temperatures actually fall.

4) 7th anniversary of the Flood of 2010 is today.

It’s incredible how time flies!  Seven years have already passed since that epic flood when more than a foot and a half of rain fell on parts of Middle Tennessee in one weekend!

Take a look at how much fell where you live….

In addition to tremendous flooding, six tornadoes struck that weekend.  Many areas sustained wind damage, as well.

Coming up tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm, we’ll share more on what’s in store this week.  PLUS, I’ll have a preview of what you can expect for the many outdoor events going on this weekend!
