Weekend Weather & Happenings

Are you ready for a sunny weekend?  We’ve got it, but we will have a cold start. A Freeze Warning is in effect for tomorrow morning with lows dropping to near 32 degrees. That means anything you planted so far could be nipped by morning.

The clear sky and calmer wind will allow temperatures to be in the low to mid 30s across Middle Tennessee, some favored areas could be in the upper 20s.

You might want to venture outside in the cold because tonight and the rest of the weekend, Jupiter will be bright. Jupiter makes it’s closest approach to Earth for the year over the next several days. The sky will be clear so look toward the east at dusk, it will be rising through the evening, climbing highest in the sky at midnight, Jupiter will set in the west around sunrise. It shines more brightly than any star in the evening sky, and is the second-brightest planet, after Venus. Happy viewing!

There are several walk/runs going on in the morning, so if you are going to participate or cheer someone on, be prepared for the chill. Snowbird will be at the MS Walk at Nissan Stadium.

Paul Heggen and Dagny will be in Franklin for the WillPower 5K.

It will warm nicely during the day with a sunny sky and the winds switching around to the south.  That means a lovely day for the Cherry Blossom Festival tomorrow at the Public Square.  This is a family event with several activities for the kiddos.  It’s a celebration of Japanese Culture.

Not as chilly for Saturday night into Sunday as you would suspect.  And Sunday will feel a lot like summer with a high near 80 degrees.  The golf courses will be a big draw.

Nice weather will continue through Monday, with a high near 80. The next chance of rain will hold off until Tuesday. After that a dry and warm pattern.
