A 4WARN Weather Alert’s in effect today….mainly for this afternoon & early this evening. Scattered thunderstorms should develop in our area between 1pm & 8pm. A few could be strong-severe with damaging wind gusts. We don’t have a particularly high chance for severe weather today….but it’s not zero either. SO…while I wouldn’t cancel outdoor plans, I’d certainly remain weather aware.
Outdoors now, much of the area is cloudy, like Nashville.
It’s very mild, with temperatures in the 60s and low 70s.
4WARN Live Doppler shows some rain moving from the west….over the TN River Valley. This batch of showers has been weakening as it’s advanced eastward. I expect that trend to continue. It’s even doubtful this batch of showers will reach the I-65 corridor before fizzling.
What that means is the weather looks great to take in Vanderbilt University’s Spring Showcase (they’re spring intra-team scrimmage). It’s a free event between 9:30am and 11:30am. There will be food trucks, inflatables for kids, autographs from players, and more.
Golfing today looks best early, too. Here’s that outlook.
This afternoon and this evening will bring about our best chance for storms today. Take a look at FUTURECAST. The short term computer models have been insisting on Nashville’s mostly likely time for storms to be around 4pm….so bear that in mind if you’re in or will be around the greater Nashville area then.
Daphne DeLoren will be tracking the storms this afternoon….and will have updates on social media as well as on Channel 4 News at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm.
In the meantime, have a great Saturday!
