Happy St. Patrick’s Day! There has been green sprinkled on the radar map throughout the day. This afternoon was close to average high of 61. It was 63 degrees today.
More rain and thunderstorms are possible this evening. The Storm Prediction Center has put western Middle Tennessee in a “marginal” risk zone for possible strong to severe thunderstorms, that is a one on a 1-5 scale. A few thunderstorms tonight could produce hail and gusty winds as well as frequent lightning.
After tonight’s rain, the weekend weather is the prize. It will be perfect for being outside. There may be a few showers in the early morning, but sunshine will take over in the afternoon. Temperatures will be mild in the morning, it should be fine for runners tomorrow morning.
The sky continues to clear and the temperatures will get warm with a high near 64. It’s a good time to take advantage of one of the 56 state parks. Many will have guided hikes tomorrow to kick off spring. Here is a list of those scheduled hikes.
Sunday looks great too, sunny with a high of 60. The first day of Spring is Monday, most of the day will be dry and very warm, high near 75. Tuesday expect showers and thunderstorms with the next system, cooler high of 61.
I’ll close this with a fun honor today. I went to Tullahoma to be the guest speaker at the Parks and Recreation Department’s Lunch and Learn series at the Community Center. To my surprise, Mayor Lane Curlee showed up and declared it “Lisa Spencer Day”. I was so flattered…really sweet folks there.
I hope you have a great weekend!
