There are 4 things to know about our weather that’ll keep you prepared for the days to come. They are…
1) More rain is likely for Tuesday morning’s commute.
After a round of showers this morning, this afternoon and early evening have been pleasant. Right now, clouds are confined to the southeastern half of the Mid State.
Clouds will return for all of us tonight. A warm front will move northward through the Mid State overnight, too. It’ll bring about a round of showers and storms that begin developing around 3am near the Tennessee River. That rain will gradually spread eastward just as most commuters hit the road Tuesday morning.
2) A big warm-up’s about to unfold.
Temperatures now are in the 50s and 60s. Tomorrow and Wednesday, it’ll feel more like late April, with highs in the low 70s. That warm-up will be in part due to strong southerly winds that develop.
The gusty wind will continue into Wednesday, too.
3) Severe storms are likely Wednesday.
Showers and thunderstorms will move in early on Wednesday thanks to this early springlike set-up.
Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat from any severe weather.
This looks to be a daytime storm event on Wednesday, so if you have Wednesday evening plans the storm threat will be over by then.
4) More freezing weather’s in store.
Many flowers and blossoms were damaged this past weekend. Additional frost/freeze damage is possible this coming weekend, thanks to a couple of expected cold nights.
