Unsettled Start to the Week

A picture-perfect day to soak up the sunshine! My little Nash (green collar) and his best friend, Luca did just that, from the park this afternoon…

We woke up to 27 degrees this morning but warmed up nicely to a high of 57 in Nashville. The temp ladder only climbs from this point forward…

We’ll be moving and grooving into the 70s in no time. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the warm days of the week before seasonable upper 50s return by Wednesday.

My main focus of the forecast are not the temperatures! A train of three systems are on the way — the first of which, just to our west. Check out the clouds that are just about ready to spill into Middle Tennessee…

Showers to follow — mainly in the form of light rain and initially impacting areas west of I-65 — late tonight after midnight, through our early AM commute, diminishing in number by late morning.

Futurecast, map it out for us please…

Boom. That was system #1. Not bad, right?

System #2 has similar timing but I expect it to blossom with a bit more steam, including the development of thunderstorms and heavy downpours…dd-rpm-4km-evening6dd-rpm-4km-evening7dd-rpm-4km-evening8dd-rpm-4km-evening9

System #3 is expected to be the strongest of the three on Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will march through with a strong passing cold front. Some storms could be strong to severe, with damaging wind as the main threat. wsmv-4day-forecast

I’ll be able to narrow in on further details with location, timing and what to expect as time gets closer but for now, we are under a 4WARN WEATHER ALERT for Wednesday. Stay tuned for updates. I’ll have some coming up on Channel 4 at 10 tonight. Hope you join me!
