After a delightful finish to the week the clouds and rain quickly moved in to start our weekend! Though most of the showers have lifted north and east, coast is not completely clear just yet. Enough moisture brings light rain to the Mid State but only to areas north of I-40.
Mainly cloudy skies have kept temperatures a bit cooler than the past couple of days, but STILL above average, in the upper 50s to lower 60s area-wide. This is actually the COOLEST of the entire extended forecast ahead. Now is the time to break out the flip flips and tank tops.
Tomorrow marks the start of this major warm up! Welcome to unofficial spring in Middle Tennessee…
As far as rain goes, we’ll see a few spotty showers for areas north of I-40 through late tonight, then areas along the Cumberland Plateau has the best chance after midnight.
High pressure works its way in early on Sunday and decreasing clouds will lead to plentiful sunshine throughout the day.
Upper 60s to low 70s take over for the entirety of the week ahead! Next chance for rain will be on Tuesday into early Wednesday morning before a secondary system brings the best chance for showers, thunderstorms and windy conditions by Friday.
I’ll have the full shower timeline and workweek warm-up coming up on Channel 4 at 6 & 10 tonight!
