It’s Presidents Day weekend and despite the fact that it’s February, it will be a lot like April. Today was spectacular with tons of sun and a gentle south wind. It felt like spring. This was one of my favorite pictures tweeted to me today.
The high reached 70 degrees in Nashville. That is well above the average of 52, but wasn’t enough for a record.
Change rolls in tonight with an approaching system. The clouds will increase overnight with rain arriving by morning across the southern part of Middle Tennessee and then spreading northward. It won’t rain all day, but plan for showers especially in the morning. Here’s the latest Futurecast depiction.
Sunshine does return Sunday as a ridge of high pressure begins to build in again. The high will soar back to the low 70s. Monday, Presidents Day, will be very similar. That will make for a wonderful holiday weekend for those who get that day off.
Tuesday another trough of low pressure approaches and that will bring spotty showers back to the forecast. The on and off chances of rain will continue into the rest of next week and so will the unseasonably warm temperatures.
I’ll have an update on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
