A cloudy and breezy start to our Sunday took a pleasant turn, ending the weekend with plenty of sunshine! Temperature’s were a bit unique today. With a passing cold front, our daytime highs were hit earlier in the morning. Some spots even broke the low 70-degree mark. Crossville hit 68 degrees which was warm enough to break the previous record of 67 set back in 1961. My goodness.
Beautiful photos came streaming in from our viewers. Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, thought these flowers were fitting to share on our 5 PM newscast. Thanks for sharing, Treva and Ralph!
Cold front currently sits well to our south and with clear skies, temperatures continue to drop…
In fact, it will be a morning for the heavy coat! Overnight lows will drop close to the freezing mark…very different than the 70 degrees we woke up to in Nashville this AM.
Daytime highs will be cooler as well but comfortable and right around the ball park of average.
Our next chance for rain will be with an approaching system on Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Yesterday, models held the system far enough south for the Mid State to dodge the rain but latest models lift it a bit further north. Areas south of the I-40 corridor have the best chance to see the rain. Areas along the Cumberland Plateau will possibly see more of a rain/snow mix into early Wednesday morning. After that? Smooth sailing and warmer each day! Low to mid 60s hopscotch into the low 70s to start next week. Plenty of sunshine each day will be the cherry on top! Enjoy!
I will have the full breakdown of shower timing coming up on Channel 4 at 10 tonight!
