Spring-like Weekend

Many of my co-workers are downright giddy about this weekend. I can understand why, with afternoon highs Saturday and Sunday near 15 degrees above the average. Today in Nashville, the high reached 65 degrees with plenty of sunshine and a strong south wind.

The evening will be pleasant with a few clouds. That means nice weather for viewing the penumbral lunar eclipse. The Moon, known tonight as the Snow Moon, will pass through the outer shadow of the Earth. This won’t be a spectacular show, you will mainly notice the moon a bit darker. You can get more information on this click here.

Also there is a comet passing by tonight.  The green Comet 45P will be hard to see without a telescope.  You can find out more here.

Now on to the weekend.  Saturday expect another mild day with a high of 66 degrees.  Most of the rain will be at night. There will be a few spotty showers. Here’s the latest Futurecast depiction.

Sunday brings a better chance of rain especially early in the day out ahead of a front.  The high should reach 67, before the cooler air starts to return. Here’s the latest Futurecast.

Monday will be beautiful with sunshine but also cooler as more seasonal air moves arrives. Tuesday, Valentines Day will be nice with a high near 50.  A front will move in Tuesday night and that will bring a chance of rain in time for dinner plans on Tuesday night.
