Rollercoaster Temperatures Continue

It feels like spring one day and winter the next, the temperature rollercoaster continues.  Yesterday the high reached 69 in Nashville, today it was only 40 and tomorrow back up to 60 degrees again.

As an area of high pressure slips east of Tennessee, the winds will turn to the south and warm things once again.  The sun will be out too…Lucy (the weather dog) get ready for a

You and I will have to wait a few hours for things to warm up.  We’ll start out in the morning in the mid 20s.  By the way the low this morning was 30 degrees in Nashville.  It was cold enough along the Plateau for a little snow to fall, but on this date in 2003 more than a little snow fell. Nashville received 4.1″ of snow.  That was enough for a record for the day.

This weekend it won’t be snow falling, but some rain.  Saturday afternoon, a weak system will bring in more clouds and a few spotty showers.  It will still be warm with a high of 60 degrees.  Sunday will be even warmer and the chance of rain and some thunderstorms will increase. The next work week begins with just a few spotty showers in the morning.  Temperatures will be cooler, in the 50s for afternoon highs.

On a sky note, if you can take the cold, head outside and check out the nearly full moon tonight.

I’ll have an update on the weekend outlook on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
