Take two! Our second day straight of refreshing sunshine made for a beautiful February day. Our very own Dan Thomas snapped and shared his sunset picture with me just before our 5 o’clock newscast. Wow and wow. 🙂
Clouds slowly but surely took over our Middle Tennessee sky and a weak disturbance brings scattered rain showers, mainly to our southwestern counties…
Radar update (8:32 pm) — not a whole lot of movement with this rain, just a very slow motion towards the east.
Areas south of I-40 continue to have the best chance for spotty rain overnight into the very early morning on Sunday. After that? Decreasing clouds and warmer highs, in the upper 50s! Oh yeah.
Our next approaching system wastes no time. Initially, a warm front will bring scattered rain into the Mid State, from west to east starting on Monday morning. Here’s the timing…
A secondary cold front swings through after and this one has a bit more steam. Showers and thunderstorms march through Monday overnight into Tuesday. Some storms could be strong to potentially severe so this one will be one to watch…
Rainfall totals are expected to fall between 0.5″ and 1.5.” Nashville currently sits at a 0.98″ deficit since the first of the year. Not desperate for the rain but we’ll take it!
Besides that, we are in for a WARM up! Unseasonably warm upper 50s on Sunday hopscotch into the lower 60s on Monday before a twenty degree above average upper 60 day arrives by Tuesday. Once that cold front does its thing and gets out, we’ll quickly drop…again. Upper 40s by mid-week then lower 40s by Thursday. With the cooler temperatures, a slight chance for a rain/snow mix is possible by Thursday.
I’ll have the full shower timeline coming up on Channel 4 at 10 tonight! Be sure to join Meteorologist Dan Thomas bright and early tomorrow morning for updates!
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
