So wonderful to see the glorious sun today. The clouds eroded west to east allowing the sunshine to warm most of the mid-state to above average temperatures. Nashville reached our forecasted 56 today, 9 degrees above the average.
The sky will remain clear for the evening, then clouds will start to move back in overnight. With the clear sky you can catch a glimpse of 5 planets. You can start with the two evening planets Venus and Mars now that it’s dark, but don’t wait too long, they will disappear. Look southwest.Venus is the bright one.
Jupiter will rise in the east sky in the middle of the night and can still be seen high in the sky before sunrise. Mercury and Saturn can only be seen in the morning before dawn in the eastern sky. I can’t promise that clouds won’t obscure your view. They will move in early.
Those clouds will bring a few showers tomorrow out ahead of a front. Expect this midday through the afternoon. With a south wind out ahead of the front it will be very mild, high 64. The cold air spills in Thursday behind the front.
There is a small chance of rain and snow Thursday and Friday along the Cumberland Plateau as the front exits. It shouldn’t be a big issue. The cold air will stick around through the weekend.
It will be interesting to see what this return to winter weather will do to all the flowers that are peeking out early.
I’ll have an update on the weather on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
