Umbrellas Out!

Hello clouds…and hello 70s! I mean, my goodness. Mother Nature sure made up for the cold spell last week…video-tvi

Current temperatures (2:56 pm as I write here) are running twenty five degrees warmer than where we should be according to early January standards. Warm enough to break out the tank tops and the flip flops in January! Not a bad deal.

So far, not a whole lot of rain to point out. A few light misty showers are working their way in ahead of an approaching cold front. Most of the moisture is much closer to the front itself, so as it continues jogging south and east, you’ll notice an increase in shower number, from the northwest to the east. A few rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out…

There’s the cold front…video-vipir

I expect the bulk of the rain this evening into the overnight, before diminishing within the early morning. We’ll see a few spotty showers throughout the day.

Here’s the deal…

The same frontal boundary briefly stalls out on Friday night, before lifting northward. This keeps the chance for rain in the picture into the weekend, with Saturday having the better chance (50%). With a further track north, Sunday will be the drier of the two (30%). Not too bad, right?

Here’s a peak ahead and what I’ll be timing out coming up on channel 4 at 4 & 4:30 pm today. I’ll also have continuous updates all weekend on my Facebook page —

Be sure to join Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer for the later shows coming up at 5, 6 & 10 pm.
