After a rainy start to our Wednesday, showers are outa here! Cold front has pushed through Middle Tennessee and all the rain lifted north alongside. Stubborn clouds still blanket the area and if this live cam had motion, you’d see it dancing left and right. No 41 mph wind gusts we saw yesterday, but still…breezy.
Temperatures are unbelievably warm today. Average is 46 and we’re beating the benchmark by over twenty degrees in some spots. I have not heard a single complaint from my Facebook friends. Enjoy! 🙂
Our next chance for rain is not long. An approaching cold front brings spotty showers during the day on Thursday but the better chance will be Thursday evening. Not a washout but better be safe and bring your umbrella kind of deal.
Here’s what Futurecast has to say about timing…
The same front is expected to stall out on Friday, keeping rain chances and this unsettled pattern for the days ahead. We’re talking through the weekend and even early part of next week. Rainfall totals will run up to an inch and a half in some areas. Starting off the new year drought-free!
Many folks at home are asking, “how long with the warmth?” A long time! Our coolest day in the next eight days is running at least ten degrees warmer than average for this time of year. Rain is also possible each day in this stretch but the best chances are saved for Thursday evening and Tuesday.
Meteorologist Dan Thomas will have updates on shower timing coming up on channel 4 at 4 and 6:30 this evening. Be sure to join Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer at 5, 6 and 10 tonight!
Have a great night!
