Today’s weather makes you want to check the calendar, is it January or April? The afternoon high reached 69 degrees in Nashville, well above the average of 46 and just 3 degrees short of the record high of 72.
The wind was strong again out of the south, just not quite as windy as yesterday. It will be breezy tonight and tomorrow too.
With a continued strong south wind, near record setting warmth sticks around the next several days, with just one oddball day, Friday in the 50s.
Keep the umbrella nearby as on and off rain remain in the forecast. Another front will approach tomorrow, bringing showers Thursday afternoon and evening.
A front stalls out Friday over Middle Tennessee, this will keep things unsettled for the day. As the front lifts northward on Saturday, a chance of rain returns and so does the warmer air. Sunday a few spotty showers of possible.
There were a few breaks in the clouds today and a few tonight…that’s good news for sky watchers. The moon is full tonight. This full moon is sometimes called the Wolf Moon, Old Moon or the Moon after Yule. The full moon actually crest here early Thursday at 4:34 AM. By the way “crest” means the moon is full at the moment it’s most opposite the sun in it’s orbit. Step out and see if you can see it…it’s certainly mild enough.
I’ll have a weather update tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
