Temps Take a Major U-Turn

Picturesque metropolis. What a beautiful place we call home, Nashville.video-tvi

Temperatures are not AS beautiful. In fact, well below freezing as I type here (6:46 pm)…wsmv-dma-temps-zoom1_effectsquiggle-autoplot

The end is near, though! ONE MORE NIGHT, friends. Overnight lows dip low into the upper teens, about ten degrees cooler than average for this time of year. Heavy coats are a must at the bus stop tomorrow morning…

Daytime highs on Monday will be noticeably warmer and closer to average, in the lower 40s but it will feel a bit cooler due to breezy southwesterly winds by the afternoon. After that??? Warmer temperatures get real. We’re talking twenty degrees above our seasonal average, in the mid to upper 60s both on Wednesday and Thursday. Patience pays off.

Now let’s turn our attention to precipitation. Our next chance is with an approaching system on Tuesday. Scattered showers will be the trend during the day before increasing chances return from west to east by dinnertime. A few thunderstorms are possible and heavy downpours are not out of question.

Here’s timing…

The same system becomes stationary just north of Tennessee, keeping rain chances around all week and even into the weekend. Here’s a peak ahead and what I’ll be diving into depth with coming up on channel 4 at 10 tonight.

Stay warm and have a blessed night!
