Frigid Weekend

The first snow of the season…yes indeed.  Almost a half inch was recorded officially in Nashville today, of course there were areas with much more and areas with much less. It was a pain on the road, but by the looks of the photos many kiddos enjoyed it.

There is the possibility of a few more snowflakes passing by tonight. The best chance is to the east.  Additional accumulations won’t amount to much if any. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12midnight.

The big story is now the cold air that will be here for the entire weekend. Today the high reached 25 degrees in Music City.  Tonight the low will drop to 12, that means we are looking at some single digits away from the city.

With a bit of a breeze, it could feel like 0 by morning.  So a friendly reminder to keep the dogs inside and periodically check on your elderly friends and family.

The sunshine will help during the afternoon to melt some of what is on the road, but it will be very cold with the high tomorrow only expected to be 26. Sunday will be a little better with a high of 32.

Next week, a more southerly wind will bring the afternoon temperatures back to the mid 40s by Monday.  That is more average for this time of year.  Temperatures swing the other direction mid-week reaching the 60s by Thursday.  Expect some rain next week Tuesday through Saturday.
