Today was another warm and damp day. The high reached 66 degrees this afternoon. It was 65 yesterday and 55 Sunday. Now back to reality…winter air is making a big return. A front is moving through tonight will usher in that colder air. It will be in the 30s by morning. With the rain moving out there could be a few snow flurries on the Cumberland Plateau early Wednesday morning.
The sun does reappear, so even though it will be colder, the sun will brighten the mood.
Another disturbance tumbles through that cold air on Thursday afternoon and that could spell a little snow mainly along the Tennessee and Kentucky border and the Cumberland Plateau. Don’t expect much more than a dusting on decks, roofs and grassy surfaces. It shouldn’t cause problems on the road. Some of the higher elevations could pick up and 1″.
The second chance of snow is on the heels of the first. Another disturbance comes through Friday. This one will take a more southern track so the most likely location to get some snow will be along the Tennessee and Alabama border. Accumulation will be again a dusting. Neither of these should send anyone to the grocery to raid the shelves….please.
The weekend will be cold with some morning lows in the teens, but no precipitation.
I’ll have an update tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
