There was a chilling wind today after a stormy night last night. Today was much cooler than yesterday’s 63, 54 was the high reached just after midnight. It will be even colder tonight with a clear sky, the low will drop to near 30 degrees.
Tomorrow will be a sunny, cold day too, but not as windy as today. If you are headed to the Music City Bowl you’ll want to take a coat. It will only be 46 degrees when the game gets underway.
A developing system in the southwest U.S.A. will bring rain to Middle Tennessee by Saturday afternoon. That will set us up for rainy weather on New Year’s Eve. If you are going downtown to celebrate at Bi-Centennial Mall State Park, take the cold and wet weather gear.
That rain will stick around for the first day of 2017. The high will reach the mid-50s. Don’t forget to eat black eyed peas and greens for good luck in the New Year.
This also means Sunday’s Titans game will be soggy. Here’s Futurecast’s latest depiction of how the rain will move into the mid-state.
The second day of 2017 will also include a rainy forecast. Temperatures will be slightly above the average for this time of year.
I’ll have an update on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
