If you woke up to loud thunder last night, you were not alone! Heavy downpours and strong thunderstorms marched through Middle Tennessee overnight. Damaging winds in excess of 40 mph with some of the stronger storms led to to downed trees, branches, and even power lines. Check out our rainfall totals — close to 2″ for our northwestern counties.
The time is 8:46 am as I type here and things are really improving! Here’s check on the radar — just a few light spotty showers south of I-40…
As high pressure moves in, clouds continue to lift, winds lighten, and significantly cooler air is in store for your Tuesday. Yesterday Nashville hit 74 degrees and today I’m forecasting 54 for the high…still about seven degrees warmer than average for late December.
Our next chance for rain is not far away. Showers return by dinnertime on Wednesday, from the west to east, diminishing before sunrise on Thursday.
Delightful sunshine returns by the end of the week and timing could not be more perfect for Music City Bowl at Nissan stadium on Friday. Pack the sunglasses and maybe a hoodie? Blue skies and seasonably chilly upper 40s around kickoff is what you can count on.
I’ll be there! My first game in Nashville and very excited.
Though timing could be better for rain with holiday weekend plans, there is no compromise with Mother Nature. Check out the 7-day…
I’ll be going more in depth with shower timing coming up on channel 4 at noon today.
Make it a great day!
