Dreaming of a Warm Christmas

Wow! What a morning. Rain, fog, and mist machines were out and in full swing across Middle Tennessee…

With the exception of a couple heavy pockets, most of the rain has been light…but covering almost every spot in the area. It is now 8:15 am and here’s how the radar shapes up…plenty of needed rain to go around for everyone!

Thick clouds have kept overnight lows on a mild note, in the low to upper 50s and these numbers won’t budge much today. I’m expecting highs in the upper 50-degree zone, about ten degrees above average for late December.

The good news, severe weather is not a threat with this system. You may get an occasional heavy downpour but that’s about it.

Widespread rain will gradually transition in a scattered rain event by this evening, overnight, and even a few showers lingering into the first half of Christmas…

What you’ll notice the most is the significant fluctuation in temperatures. Unseasonably warm upper 50s today will take a giant leap into the lower 70s on CHRISTMAS! That’s 22 degrees ABOVE average! 2015-christmas-2

An unsettled weather pattern will keep on and off showers in the forecast for a good chunk of the 7-Day Forecast. Bright sunshine will be the light at the end of the tunnel on Friday, at the cost of chilly lower 40s.

I’ll have the full timeline of your holiday weekend forecast and seesaw in temperatures coming up on channel 4 at 9 am today! Merry Christmas!
