Roller coaster Temperatures

A cold day but at least a sunny day. In Nashville it reached 29 degrees at noon.Get ready for a cold one tonight when the low will drop to 18 in Nashville, that means even colder away from the city. Please remember to look out for the elderly and vulnerable on this cold night. It’s too cold for pets to be outside and you’ll want to make sure any exposed pipes are covered.

This cold blast won’t last long, tomorrow will warm to 49 degrees, but along with that comes more clouds.  An approaching front will bring some rain late night Friday. A greater chance of rain comes Saturday.  We may even see some strong to severe thunderstorms. Here’s the latest timing on the storm.

We could see some much needed rain out of this system, perhaps as much as 2.5″ in some spots.

Cold air rushes in Sunday as the moisture is exiting.  That could spell a change over to sleet and snow for Sunday morning. Don’t expect much accumulation…the ground is way to warm.

I’ll have an update on this tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm or I should say after the game.

Despite the cold today, I was happy at my house my kiddos are home for the holidays.  Today we were cozy in the kitchen recording our Christmas cooking segment that will air on Today in Nashville.  You can check that out Monday at 11am.  We’ll even sing you a Christmas greeting in family harmony.
