Bone Chilling Cold!

A delightful day across our beautiful state today –plenty of sunshine, a bit chilly and crisp air for everyone.

Check out this cool capture! Snapped and shared this morning by our loyal channel 4 viewer, Holly — just along the Cumberland River in Ashland City. Fog made for a majestic picture. Thanks, Holly!

We woke up to 19 lonely degrees and only warmed to a high of 41 in Nashville. Temps are still running very chilly so you’ll want to layer up if you’re heading out n about. 7:07 pm as I type here and we are raging between the upper 20s to lower 30s ALREADY!

A system is on the way and it will be bring a nice soaking of rain along with it. The good news? The big game, Titans vs Broncos will dodge the rain at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is at noon tomorrow. You can expect mainly cloudy skies, breezy southerly winds (up to 25 mph at times) and lower 50s.

Showers arrive by the evening, starting with our northwestern counties. Let’s check in with Futurecast for timing…

So basically Sunday evening through the first half of Monday…plan to keep the umbrella handy. Widespread showers, heavy at times, can be expected. There’s a decent chance for a few thunderstorms to develop as well.

We still need the rain! Nashville sits at a 7.57″ deficit for the year and 0.35″ deficit for the month of December. I’m expecting anywhere from 0.50″ to 1.5″ through Tuesday. Wohoo!

Here’s a peak at the next days ahead. I’ll have the full shower timeline coming up on channel 4 at 10 tonight.

Be sure to join Dan Thomas bright and early at 5 am tomorrow!

Stay warm and have a wonderful night!
