This morning is the coldest of the season so far! Twice in November we dipped to 26 degrees. This morning we dropped below that to 24. We’re still very near lows for the day right now, as of 9:30am:
Most of us are dealing with at least some cloud cover…
Here’s a look around across some of our communities.
Throughout the day, the clouds will give way to sunshine, but it’ll still remain very cold. A look at highs this afternoon shows some spots hovering around freezing!
This evening, weather will be perfect for “Winter Wonderland” in Springfield. It’s going to be held at J. Travis Price Park, where there will be lights, Santa Clause, hot chocolate, Snowbird & more! If you want to say hi to Snowbird, you’ll find him next to Santa’s sleigh.
Overnight, it’ll turn EVEN COLDER….with lows by dawn in the teens and lower 20s. Temperatures will moderate only slightly tomorrow afternoon, with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
This weekend is a big one for Christmas parades. Snowbird’s in two of them. In Pulaski, which rolls tomorrow, the weather looks very pleasant…just a bit chilly. In Murfreesboro on Sunday, expect more clouds and (in all likelihood) dry weather.
Notice it’ll be quite a bit warmer on Sunday (from the parade forecast above). We’ll also see clouds return and the chance for rain. If you’re going to the Titans game, plan on clouds and the slightest shower threat by the end of the game.
FUTURECAST looks like it’s running a touch slow. I think it’s more likely a few showers work into our western counties before dark on Sunday.
Rain will become more widespread Sunday night, lingering into Monday. A few more showers will be possible on Tuesday. By Wednesday into Thursday, Arctic air will return to Middle Tennessee…possibly accompanied by a few snow showers. We’ll have more on that and the late weekend rain today, on @WSMV News at 4pm.
