It will feel like we change seasons over the next 7 days from summer-like heat to winter chill, plus some needed rain will be sandwiched in the middle. Today we were very close to setting a record…the high was 77, one degree shy of the record.
Tomorrow a strong southerly wind will help drive temperatures to the record level of 81 degrees. Friday will also be warm in the upper 70s. The front spreads much needed rain in the evening. Here’s the latest Futurecast depiction.
The coldest air of the season will trail behind this front.
By Monday morning many folks will experience a hard freeze.
In the night sky the next few days, it’s peak time for the annual Leonid Meteor Shower. This is when the Earth crosses the orbital path of the Comet Tempel-Tuttle. The debris from Tempel-Tuttle enters the Earth’s atmosphere and vaporizes resulting in the Leonid Shower. The best time to view is between 12mid and dawn. The bright waning gibbons moon may make seeing the meteors difficult. Make sure you are away from city light. Happy viewing.
Thanksgiving is just over a week away…it looks like a nice one with a fair sky and highs in the 60s.
I’ll have a weather update on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
