Today’s front went through as expected…very little rainfall and no big change in the temperatures. But the next front on Friday will promise bigger changes on both accounts.
But first things first…a ridge of high pressure builds in tomorrow and Thursday. This means plenty of sunshine and much warmer temperatures. Tomorrow morning starts with some patchy fog, otherwise plenty of sunshine. Thursday could be so warm that we could reach a record high of 81. But that won’t last long as the front on Friday will bring the best chance of rain we’ve had in a while. It will also leave behind cooler temperatures from the weekend into the next week.
The rain on Friday could be significant especially across western Middle Tennessee. The latest model run is leaving about half inch to an inch and a half of rain.
Of course it’s the eastern section of the mid state that is suffering the most from the drought. By the way, cold weather lovers. Temperatures drop way down over the weekend and at the beginning of next week. Monday morning, temperatures will likely be in the 20s in many areas.
On a side bar an Air Quality Alert has been issued again for Wednesday. This basically applies to people who have breathing problems or suffer from heart conditions. The best advice is to stay inside especially in the warmest part of the day.
I’ll have an update on the forecast on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
