4 Things to Know About Our Weather

There are 4 things to know about our weather that will prepare you well for the upcoming days.  They are…

1) A Few Light Showers are About to Return

During the month of October, no rain has fallen at Nashville International  Airport. In fact, greater than half of the Mid State has gone more than two weeks without a drop. That’ll change in some areas later this week.  However, not by much.  A few weak weather systems will traverse the area, bringing just patchy light showers.

2) Hurricane Nicole Enroute to Bermuda

Hurricane Nicole continues to get more organized and intense.  It appears increasingly likely Bermuda will get clipped by Nicole on Thursday, likely as a strong category 2 storm (bordering category 3 status).  The storm should pass just west of the island producing an extended period of damaging wind, torrential rain, high waves, and storm surge.

3) More Warm Air’s in Store

Temperatures tomorrow will be a lot like today’s.  While the morning will be chilly, the afternoon will run 6-9 degrees above average:

4) Pollen is on the Decline

With September behind us, finally, pollen is on the decline.  Last month, we were dealing with readings around 10.  Now, the count has dropped to four or so, and should remain in that neighborhood for a while, before diminishing even further.

Coming up tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm, I’ll have more on the increasing rain chance, an update on Hurricane Nicole (which should arrive shortly from the National Hurricane Center), and a look at when BELOW average afternoon temperatures are expected to return to Middle Tennessee.  We hope you join us!
