Hot Week Ahead

We are already half way through September and we are still talking hot weather.  The weekend rain and heat break was welcomed, but I know I am ready to turn the corner to fall.  I have some favorite sweaters and fun boots I am ready to put on.  Pumpkins and mums are showing up at the markets, nurseries, roadside stands and stores, it’s time to cool down.

Today was well above the average at 89.  Normally by this time of year we are in the lower 80s. The average high is 81. Yikes!

Today was a little less humid, dew points were in the low 60s for the most part. That’s the tolerable level and much better than last week’s 70s, which is oppressive.

There will not be much change in the pattern this week. High pressure will stay in control and that will keep the sun shining, but the heat rising.  Highs will be near 90. There is very little chance until Friday and even then it will only be a 20% chance…so very isolated.

The next best chance of rain over the next 7 days is Monday, expect spotty thundershowers then and that will low the temperatures to the mid 80s.

I’ll have a weather update tonight on Channel 4 News at 10 PM.
