Just looking at my calendar and there is just over a week of summer left. The Autumnal Equinox occurs Thursday, September 22 at 9:21 AM. Of course, we won’t expect to see colors like this right away.
The rest of this week will truly feel like summer with highs near 90 degrees and enough humidity to make it feel like the mid to upper 90s. Dew points will rise overnight, this could translate into some morning fog in some spots.
Wednesday and Thursday it will be hot and humid with typical summer time thunderstorms developing in the heat. Here’s how Futurecast depicts tomorrow afternoon…not much to show.
The storms can produce heavy downpours and gusty winds. Of course, not everyone will see them. Although there was no severe thunderstorms today, you can see from this photo in Lawrenceburg that it was wet and windy.
Friday there’s even a better chance of spotty rain and thunderstorms. An approaching front will bring the best chance of rain thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. There has been some disagreements in weather models, but I think the rain will be most likely late Saturday night into early Sunday. This will bring temperatures into the mid 80s again.
I’ll have an update on Channel 4 News at 10pm. Paul Heggen has the latest in the morning on Channel 4 News today.
