Scorching Heat Before Relief Ahead

Another breathtaking sunrise to start our morning! Perfect to enjoy over a cup of coffee on the patio, getting ready for the day. I took this screen grab between weather hits on the morning show…

No need to leave early. Clear skies paint a smooth sailing morning commute. If you’re just heading out the door, here’s how the radar shapes up (7:07 AM)…

Not a single rain drop to point out! A large dome of high pressure over the southeast pushes the pause button on this picture and roads will remain nice and dry all today. Delightful sunshine comes at the cost of scorching heat but if you’re in Middle Tennessee, this is nothing new. 🙂

Southwesterly winds and mainly sunny skies are the main reasons for temperatures climbing into the lower 90s today. Yesterday we hit 94 and today I expect a carbon copy today.

With dew point values in the low to upper 60s, it will feel slightly humid.

I expect these numbers to dial up into the mid-60 to lower 70-degree range tomorrow. Check out Futurecast…

It will feel noticeably more muggy — between very sticky and oppressive…

Scorching temperatures carry on for a few more days but relief comes with an approaching frontal boundary, currently situated over the central plains…

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will work their way in as the front approaches on Saturday. This will bring seasonable upper 80s back to town! If that’s not cool enough for you, you may like the lower 80s Mother Nature brings on Sunday and Monday of your next workweek — can I get an ‘oh yeah?’

Here’s a peak at the next seven days ahead.

Meteorologist Dan Thomas will have the full timeline and updates on your extended forecast coming up on channel 4 at noon today. A friendly reminder, the best way to get weather alerts when your on the go is by downloading our FREE ‘WSMV WX’ app.

Make it a great day!
