High heat and humidity will be the main players in the forecast this weekend….as opposed to last night, for example, when many areas received tremendous rain! Look at these rainfall estimates from 4WARN Live Doppler…
In the wake of that rain, fog has formed in many areas this morning. As of 8:15am, this is where pockets of significant fog remain (where you see the yellow, orange, and red shading).
We’re heating up fast. Some spots are already near 80 degrees…and the sun rose just two hours ago!
It’s plenty humid outdoors, too….and that won’t change for a while to come. Remember, dew points near 70 or above indicate oppressive mugginess.
I expect more typical summertime weather today, as opposed to the organized bands of showers and thunderstorms that formed last night. SO…we’ll have SOME downpours that pop up. It’ll just be luck of the draw though in terms of who gets rain. ALSO…rain should dissipate rather quickly this evening, once the sun goes down. Here’s a look at FUTURECAST for today and tonight…
That means, you’ll have to stay hydrated and lather on sunscreen if you’ll be out and about today. Looking for something fun to do? Consider driving to Wartrace for the town’s 21st Annual Town Wide Yard Sale!
If fall seasonal allergies get you, prepare to cope. The pollen count’s way up there!
Tonight, many football games that were postponed from last night will be played. Here’s the forecast for a couple of them. Plan on more warmth and mugginess!
ALSO, remember a great way to stay informed with the weather while you’re on the go is to use the free WSMV and WSMV Weather apps. They’ll let you track the heat, see 4WARN Live Doppler, and receive any watches, warnings, and/or advisories that are issued.
