Many folks have already asked me, if it’s already this hot, in the mid and upper 90s, what will August be like. Well, it really doesn’t work like that. Even though we have already been that hot, the last half of this week will be in the mid to upper 80s. That’s closer to average for this time of year.
A cold front will pass by tomorrow…very little rain is expected with that front, but it will leave behind some cooler and more importantly drier air. Yesterday was 95 degrees, early today in Nashville it reached 90, Wednesday the high will be 85.
The humidity will be a big reason it will feel so much better. Dew points on the muggy meter are in the low to mid 70s. By Wednesday, they will be in the 50s. That will feel amazing for this time of year. Golfers, joggers, gardeners take note! that’s Wednesday. Thursday will be nice as well.
By the weekend, the area of high pressure controlling our weather will start to erode. A chance of showers sneaks back into the forecast Friday. As dew points continue to rise again, a better chance of rain moves back in Saturday and Sunday. The highs will be in the upper 80s.
Now for a preview of the 4th of July. It will be hot with a few scattered showers possible. I would go ahead with outdoor plans. We’ll keep updating the forecast.
