Awww! it’s much quieter tonight and it will stay that way. Electrical storms last night jarred many out of bed. Was that you? I even had one lady send me a photo of her dogs hiding in the corner. No doubt those storms were loud! Jeremy captured and tweeted the picture of the day with this view of lightning striking downtown.
This weekend, overall, will not include much of a chance for thunderstorms. Saturday and Sunday will be hot and sticky with a chance of a few isolated thundershowers. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 90s with heat indices near 100 to 102 degrees. If you choose to head to the pool or lake…don’t forget the sunscreen. The sun will be intense.
The mall or the movie theater may be another great option.
There are many things going on around the area. The big one downtown is the Nashville Pride Festival. It started tonight and goes until 11pm and again tomorrow 10am-6pm at Public Square. There will be music, vendors and a walk.
The Tennessee Brew Works Block Party is from 12n to 10pm in Pie Town. It is a family and pet friendly event.
The Nashville Sounds are back in town Saturday evening playing the Omaha Storm Chasers. Their game starts at 7:05pm. It will be a warm one.
If you are up for a little dancing on a warm summer night you can get a dance lesson and then try out your new skills at the Big Band Dance at Centennial Park from 7-10pm. That a free event.
The Nashville Flea Market is going on at the Fairgrounds both Saturday and Sunday.
Some heat relief and drought relief is likely next Monday with a good chance of rain and thunderstorms along a front. Highs will even be in the 80s later in the week.
Have a blessed weekend.
