Are you ready to do a rain dance yet?..some folks are, it’s been so dry. This afternoon many did get a much needed drenching along with some rumbles of thunder and gusty winds. Again today some trees and limbs came down with the strong winds.
There will be a few lingering showers and thunderstorms tonight before they diminish overnight. Hopefully the clouds will break enough to see the International Space Station fly by tonight at 9:32.
The upper ridge that has been controlling our weather is breaking down, that will help increase the chance of rain and thunderstorms tomorrow. I have issued a 4WARN Weather Alert as The Storm Prediction Center has put us in a “slight risk” zone for severe thunderstorms. This is a #2 on a 1-5 scale. The greatest threat will be damaging wind. Large hail and heavy downpours are possible.
The most likely time frame will be in the afternoon and evening. A few showers and thunderstorms linger into Thursday and even fewer possible on Friday. A northerly flow takes over for the weekend. It won’t be as hot and humid. Yippee!
