Rainy Day & Monday’s

Happy Monday! Wow what a weekend! It was hard to believe that we could have a Saturday and Sunday like that in May.  Saturday I was in the Strawberry Festival Parade in Portland.  I had to dig out my red sweater.  Yes, I had already done the closet swap for the season. I even had to put my coat on a couple of times before the parade. And the wind…yikes that made it feel colder…not to mention the crazy hairdo it gave me. Oh well, it was fun and the people of Portland are super nice.

By Sunday morning, the temperatures weren’t records, but they were cold, especially by May standards.

DT LOWS TODAYBy Sunday afternoon, the sun was out warming things, but it was still below average for this time of year.  It ended up being a lovely day, but a little chilly for sundresses at BGA’s graduation.

Now that brings us to Rainy Days and Mondays.  We have had quite a few lately.  Today was no exception.  The rain started rolling in late in the afternoon.  Highs today only reached the low 70s in most spots.

WSMV Almanac

The rain was a big story too.  Even though it has rained this month for some.  Nashville has only received .66″ for the entire month as of 5pm this evening.  That’s over 6″ below the average.  So rain is not a bad thing.

There is definitely rain in the forecast this week. This is an unsettled pattern with on and off rain this week.  A warm front and an upper level disturbance will be toying with us keeping some rain and thunderstorms around tomorrow. You can look at the projected temperatures for tomorrow and see about where the front is located.

WSMV RPM 12KM Temperature

The front pushes south Wednesday and a couple of other disturbances will keep a least a few showers in the forecast on Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday will be the best day for rain and thunderstorms with a front passing by. No severe storms are expected.  A few showers will linger behind the front into Saturday.  Rainfall totals will be near 1.5″ to 2″, so no flooding is expected.

I’ll have the forecast tonight on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
