The weather started off so nicely this week (yesterday HAD to have been a perfect 10 in your book)…but it’s about to take another turn. There are 4 things you should know about our upcoming weather, to ensure you’re prepared!
1) Bark is Much Worse than the Bite!
Tonight, there are rain showers out there….but very few. Here’s a look at 4WARN Live Doppler Radar, as of 8pm.
A lot of what you see isn’t reaching the ground. It’s virga — precipitation that evaporates before getting to the surface. SO….while a few of you will see sprinkles overnight, most of you won’t.
2) Rain’s Most Likely Thursday Night into Early Friday
The weather system we’ve been tracking for later this week has slowed down. That means that the most significant rain will arrive later and also depart later. We’re now expecting areas of rain to linger into Friday. Right now, I’d be ready for showers right through day’s end.
We’ll keep you posted on that, of course. Our first update on that subject will be tonight, on Channel 4 News at 10pm.
3) Near Record Heat is a Thing of the Past
Yesterday, we soared to 85 degrees….missing the record high at Nashville International Airport by just 3. Today, we reached 83 degrees, missing the record by 5. Tomorrow, highs in the 70s will be more common. We’re expecting a top temperature of 80 in Nashville. The record for Wednesday’s safe, at 87.
4) Weekend Looks Like Another Winner!
Even though the inbound rain system has slowed some, I’m still very confident the weekend will turn out to be nice! SO….make plans to be outdoors now, if you don’t already have them. Temperatures will be reasonable as well (mid-upper 70s, Saturday and lower 80s on Sunday).
