The severe weather threat is gone. Most of the rain has passed too. We made it through the day in Middle Tennessee without any severe thunderstorms. It was mainly a rain and wind event with very little lightning. That is good news.
Now cooler air is moving into Middle Tennessee. Temperatures will drop tonight to the low 40s. There will be some clouds around tomorrow, but sunshine will make an appearance too. All in all it should be a good Good Friday, just cooler with a highs near 60. Saturday is a big day for Easter Egg hunts and the weather will be terrific! Thanks to high pressure, we’ll have abundant sunshine and mild temperatures in the low 70s. Easter Sunday is a different story, the next cold front will head our way that will set us up for rain and thunderstorms, especially late in the day.
In fact, the weather should be fine for sunrise services with temperatures in the low 50s.
It looks like right now that the rain will hold off for lunch too.
Expect some shower by afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center does have us in a risk zone for severe thunderstorms Sunday evening into Monday.
We’ll keep you updated on the weekend. In the meantime a reminder to join the 4WARN Weather Team for Surviving the Storm. The first weather safety program of the spring season is next Thursday at Trousdale County High School. It’s a free event.
