While talking with my wife yesterday about our upcoming anniversary, she subtly dropped some hints (okay….maybe not so subtly) about fun outdoor date ideas now that the weather’s warmed up. They’re good ones that I haven’t thought about in a while, especially since we’re just now transitioning out of winter, so I thought I’d share…
1) Cheer on the Nashville Sounds! The regular season is just three weeks away! If you didn’t make it to the new stadium last year — First Tennessee Park — you’ll have to do it this year. Tickets are already on sale at NASHVILLE SOUNDS TICKETS & SCHEDULE, so pick your day or night and enjoy!
2) Rent bikes downtown and be a tourist for a day! We haven’t given this a shot yet, but definitely will this spring. It’s super reasonable, too. Just go to Nashville B-cycle for info on where to rent yours!
3) Canoe the Harpeth or some other area river near you. We’ve had plenty of rain lately to make for great conditions — no dragging or having to carry your canoe this time of year!! There are so many options out there for renting you can find by just googling, but one we’ve used before and were thrilled with is this: Foggy Bottom Canoe Rental.
4) Have a picnic outdoors. This is as easy as it gets and can cost as little or as much as you want it to. Just go to an area park….or park it on a bench downtown. Just being outdoors in the sunshine before it gets too hot will do wonders for your body and mind! To find a park near you, go to Find-A-Park.
Tomorrow looks like another winner to be outdoors and try one of these ideas! Tune in tonight to Channel 4 News at 10pm for an update on the continued nice weather & a look at when much cooler air will return!
